Gwent's official esports series.
Gwent Masters is the name of Gwent’s official e-sports series organized by CD Projekt Red. Thus far, there have been three seasons of Gwent Masters: Season 1, starting in May 2017, consisting of 8 Open tournaments and 5 Challengers, all held in person except for the finale - Gwent World Masters - that after much delay finally happened in June 2021; Season 2, spreading through 2020 and held entirely online, divided into 4 Opens, with its World Masters tournament taking place in December that year; and Season 3, which is currently ongoing in the same format as Season 2.
Gwent Masters tournaments are all held in best-of-5 Conquest formats, in which each player is expected to bring four different decks from four different factions and one deck per series is banned, i.e. the player is not allowed to select it for play during that tournament series.
